Lei Jun also said that smart phones are very important and have great value for the development of India's Internet. During the talks, Modi also asked Lei Jun whether the Indian government’s APP could be pre-installed in local mobile phone sales.

Lei Jun's last visit to India was in April 2015 to New Delhi to participate in the launch of the Xiaomi 4i mobile phone. What impressed everyone was that the netizens had been adapted from Lei Jun’s English sentence and they were popular with the network “Are You Ok”. Divine Comedy.

But in just two years, Xiaomi has made rapid progress in India. In 2016, the income of the whole year exceeded 1 billion US dollars. In the fourth quarter of last year, IDC's Indian market data showed that Xiaomi has ranked second in the entire Indian market and ranks first in e-commerce.

Regarding Xiaomi’s future development plans in India, Lei Jun revealed that during the exclusive interview with India’s “Economic Times”, the short-term goal of Xiaomi India market is to occupy half of India’s online mobile phone market share. In the next 2 to 3 years, China's online and offline sales will account for approximately 50% of Xiaomi's mobile phone sales. Over time, the Indian market will also reach this balance. "Internet +" model boosts India's economic development

2017.3.27

Distinguished guests, good afternoon!

It is an honour to have such an opportunity today to talk to you about how companies in the emerging economies have won the market with the "Internet+" innovation model.

"Internet +" model helps Xiaomi to create miracles in China

In 2015, China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang put forward the “Internet+” action plan for the first time in the government work report. “Internet+” represents a new form of economic development. The Chinese government is trying to encourage the deep integration of the Internet and various traditional industries to encourage enterprises. Cultivating the spirit of craftsmanship for excellence will make the Internet the most important engine for China’s economic development in the future.

In a few days, Xiaomi, which I founded, will usher in her seventh birthday. On April 6, 7 years ago, Xiaomi was founded when the era of mobile Internet was just established. With technology innovation, real materials, and good product and efficient operation, Xiaomi became the earliest company that began to practice the “Internet+” model.

We have achieved world-renowned achievements in just 7 years:

-According to IDC's 2014 third-quarter shipment data, Xiaomi became the world’s third-largest and China’s first smart phone manufacturer.

-In late 2014, Xiaomi’s valuation exceeded US$45 billion and became the highest-valued technology startup in the world at the time.

- Xiaomi has been listed in the "Top 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World in 2016" by BCG.

- In 2015, I was honored to be selected as the “100 Most Influential People in the World” list by American Times.

All this proves that Xiaomi's practice of the “Internet+” model is very successful! While we are pursuing moving and affordable products, we have also promoted the progress of the entire Chinese mobile phone industry so that more consumers can obtain technology. Fun and happiness.

How did we succeed?

- We have established a large fan base through the Internet, which makes it easier for us to interact with users, understand user needs in a timely manner, and quickly iteratively improve products. From August 16, 2010 to today, Xiaomi has been insisting on the release of the new MIUI every Friday and has continuously updated more than 320 weeks.

- The advanced Internet technology and e-commerce model help us to eliminate the huge profits in the intermediate links and achieve cost pricing, thus helping users to reduce the purchase cost.

- The Internet makes information more and more transparent, making it easier for consumers to learn about cost-effective products.

Therefore, I am extremely firm in my belief that the Internet has an irresistible force and information asymmetry will end sooner or later. This belief is my greatest motivation in the process of establishing Xiaomi, and also made Xiaomi have its own vision - "Let everyone in the world enjoy the pleasure of technology."

Our vision is to bring innovative high technology to the most ordinary people, especially to emerging market countries like India. We are still young, but we have a great dream.

Xiaomi Introduces the "Internet Plus" Model to India

In India today, as 4G and the mobile Internet become more and more popular, consumers are more and more consciously looking for more cost-effective products, and information becomes more and more transparent. At this time, which company can make good use of the "Internet +" model, and bring consumers better quality and cheaper products, it can become the market winner.

Throughout history, great companies in the world have made cheaper things cheaper and cheaper.

Today, India has become another successful case for us to implement the "Internet Plus" model in overseas markets:

- In just two years, Xiaomi has made remarkable progress in India. In 2016, the income of the whole year exceeded 1 billion US dollars.

- IDC Indian market data for the fourth quarter of last year shows that Xiaomi has ranked second in the entire Indian market, ranking first in the e-commerce sector.

-In 2015, we were put into use at the first factory in India, and we took the lead in realizing “Made in India”. At present, over 95% of the mobile phones we sell in India are already “Made in India”. We have opened new partnerships with our partner Foxconn. The second factory.

- As of now, we have created more than 7,500 jobs in India and we expect to create a total of 20,000 jobs in three years.

Then, when companies in India or other economies want to win with the “Internet +” model, what issues need to be considered? I would like to share with you here some of our experiences:

First of all, adhere to technological innovation. We decided to take the road of technological innovation from the first day of its establishment. The latest example is that we released a self-developed mobile phone chip a month ago. Xiaomi also set up an exploration laboratory last year and invested a lot of manpower and resources to do artificial intelligence. In terms of research, we will have an artificial intelligence heavyweight product release in the next six months.

Second, focus on the user experience. Focusing on user experience is at the heart of all our work! One of the key reasons for our past success is to build a great user experience on mobile phones. We interacted with the user early in the launch of the product, listened carefully to the user's feedback and quickly optimized the improvements.

Third, we attach great importance to the quality of our products. Some companies try to spread new products quickly in the market to gain market share. It is easy to cut corners and sacrifice product quality. The consequence of this is an irreparable loss to the brand. In terms of quality, we never dare to relax.

These are some of our thoughts on the "Internet Plus" in the past seven years. This is also how we practiced and achieved very good results.

I think that in the next 10 years, innovations that will give consumers the opportunity to change their lifestyles and provide more choices will become the mainstream of the market. Companies in emerging markets need to give users a unique vision that will not only solve the problems they currently face but must also be able to solve problems that may be encountered in the future.

This afternoon, I am very glad that Prime Minister Modi was able to meet us. I also gave him a complete introduction to the Internet+ ideas and Xiaomi's entrepreneurial history. I hope that the experience of the Internet+ idea in China can help more Indian startups to succeed in the Indian market. We use this method not only to achieve success on mobile phones, but also in other areas, such as charging treasure - we are the world's first; bracelet in the world second; balance car in the world; air purifier in China first. These are all relying on the Internet + success.

It is my honor to communicate with you today. Thank you again!

Opportunities: Growing outdoor and camping activities are likely to increase the use of portable power stations

There is a rise in recreational and camping activities, such as fishing and hiking, mainly in North America. According to the North American Camping Report of 2019, there has been an addition of 7 million new camper households in the US, and the percentage of people camping has increased by 72% since 2014. In addition, to the increase in new campers, more Gen X campers (38%) and millennials (32%) have begun identifying themselves as campers and frequently go camping. According to Tourism Research Australia, in 2019, total tourism, which included domestic and international tours, accounted for USD 152 billion. In Australia, people visiting hotels, motels, and resorts accounted for 24%, and people going for caravanning and camping accounted for 14%. According to Eurostat, two-thirds of European campsites are located in 5 countries, namely the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. In 2017, camping visitors spent a total of 397 million nights across EU campsites.

With the growing need to stay connected and millennials opting for camping, there is a demand for various electronic equipment such as laptops, smartphones, rechargeable trekking head torches, camping lamps, fridges, and cooler backpacks. All these devices need the power to keep them working, which increases the opportunities to use portable power stations.
