Google will join hands with LG to launch VR Headset in May

According to foreign media reports, Google and LG will launch a high-resolution head-mounted display during the Display Week 2018 trade show in late May.

The head-up display is a 4.3-inch OLED screen with 18 million pixels and a pixel density of 1443ppi. It has a wide field of view and a refresh rate of 120Hz. If this specification is true, it means that the product will become a market leader.

"180 million pixels" means that this product may have a 5000*3000 level of resolution. In contrast, HTC Vive Pro and Oculus Rift, these two famous VR heads only provide 2880*1600 and 2160*1200 resolution.

After all, for the virtual reality industry, pixel density is an important factor that affects the user experience.

However, it is unclear whether Google and LG will launch a very high-resolution consumer-level VR headset before this year. Google’s two VR headsets are Google Cardboard and Google Daydreaming. According to a VR industry development trend report released by the famous 3D model website Sketchfab, most VR headline users have Google Cardboard, accounting for about 58.9%. The second and third positions are HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. However, Google’s Daydreaming is not well-owned and popular, lagging far behind HTC Vive.

In the end, what kind of sales and user reviews will Google have for this VR headset, let's wait and see.
