It is understood that 13 states including South Carolina and Mississippi have accused AU Optronics, LG Display and LG Electronics. These states seek compensation for manufacturers suspected of conspiring to manipulate panel prices. The alleged manipulation of panel prices has become the subject of criminal investigations and multiple lawsuits.
The Federal Supreme Court will now rule whether the lawsuits filed by the state on behalf of citizens can be considered similar to collective action, meaning that they can be transferred to federal courts. The Federal Supreme Court is scheduled to hold oral arguments and make decisions in the next session, which begins in October and ends in June next year.
