Powerful LED flash for mobile phones, Oslux uses new UX: 3-chip technology

Topic: Application Technology OSRAM Opto Semiconductors introduces the new Oslux, which is not only brighter and smaller, but also provides extremely uniform light. The LED's state-of-the-art UX:3 technology, combined with an optimized lens, ensures a 50% increase in brightness over previous models, and a more even light distribution that illuminates a wider area.

The new Oslux has an area of 3.9 mm2 and a height of only 2.5 mm (previously 3 mm), but the brightness has increased by 50 lx, resulting in an amazing 150 lx output. In addition, the light in the flash can be evenly distributed, and the black spots that often appear in the center have completely disappeared. Gunnar Klick, Consumer Marketing Manager at Osram Opto Semiconductors' German Headquarters, said: "Oslux is the ideal choice for fast-growing, design-focused smart phones and mobile phones. Now even ultra-thin phones can be paired with powerful LEDs. Flash, take great photos."

There are two versions of this LED, each with a different lens. The lens is built into the LED, and with the top-emitting UX:3 chip beam characteristics, Oslux can illuminate the subject with even rectangular light. In addition, the lens used affects the distribution of light. After using Oslux, the brightness of the corners of the image can reach 40% or 20% of the central brightness. At a distance of one meter, this LED flash can evenly illuminate a diagonal of 90 cm, so it is enough to take sharp photos in dimly lit conditions.

Such amazing brightness comes from the new UX: 3 chip technology, which enables the LED to handle high currents, so more light can be generated by the chip. In addition, the light distributed over the surface is more uniform than previous chip technologies. The new Oslux is much more efficient at high currents than previous LEDs and offers amazing lighting efficiency for small areas.

With the new Oslux, OSRAM's portfolio of flash LEDs is more in line with the latest trends in ultra-thin mobile terminal devices, which require small but powerful light sources. If you want to match the lens combination yourself, you can choose the lensless version of Ceramos.

Terminal Pins

The pin refers to the connection between the internal circuit of the integrated circuit (chip) and the peripheral circuit, and the pin constitutes the interface of the chip. According to the function, the pins of AT89S52 can be divided into four categories: main power supply, external crystal oscillator or oscillator, multi-function I/O port, and control, strobe and reset.
