Abstract : This paper uses the combination of PC and PLC technology to realize the automatic sorting of high-power LEDs. It introduces the design and implementation of the high-power LED automatic sorting machine for Luxeon Emitter LEDs, and takes 1 watt LED as the object. The actual measurement shows that the sorter works stably and the classification effect is good.

1. introduction
Due to its energy saving, long life and environmental protection, LED light source is regarded as a light source in the 21st century. It is very likely to replace traditional light sources and become a mainstream lighting source [1] . Experts predict that LED lighting will form a huge industry of 50 billion US dollars. . High-power LED is the only way for LED light source to enter the field of lighting, so the market prospect of high-power LED is very broad.
Due to the large dispersion of high-power LEDs in the production process, and the practical application of high-power LED photoelectric parameters have high requirements, high-power LED production lines generally need to be equipped with corresponding rapid detection equipment and sorting devices. This paper introduces the principle of high-power LED automatic sorter, and designs and develops Luxeon Emitter high-power LED automatic sorter.
2. principle
The high-power LED automatic sorting machine described in this paper adopts the technology of combining PC and PLC to realize the automatic sorting of LED. It can be divided into four parts: mechanical system, control system, test system and software system. Its working principle is shown in the figure. 1;
After the LEDs are sorted and the positioning mechanism enters the sorting machine test station, the PLC sends a test request signal to the PC. After the PC receives the test request signal, the PC software immediately controls the constant current/constant voltage source and the polarity switching unit to complete. The LED automatically judges and powers up, and controls the LED test instrument to test the LED photoelectric parameters. Figure 2 shows the sorting flow chart of the sorter. The measurement of the reverse parameters in the figure can be selected according to the actual needs of the user. After the PC calculates the LED classification number, it transmits it to the PLC. The PLC controls the feeding and sorting mechanism according to the obtained classification number, and sends the LED into the corresponding material box to complete the classification of the LED.
