The car part has a short board

BYD, who is a battery-born, has an unimaginable dedication to lithium iron phosphate batteries, and research in other areas of the car has been lax. Unlike Tesla's advanced technology in many fields, BYD has almost only electricity-related technology.

In terms of engine technology, BYD is not dominant. Before 2010, the BYD F3 used Mitsubishi's engine. At present, BYD's engine still relies on the introduction of Japanese technology and production lines. Compared with other mainstream independent brands, BYD has a shortcoming in the development of engine technology.

As a result, the demand for batteries in the future will be enormous. So why not bundle your own battery and car electric solutions to make a profit? Instead of working hard on electric vehicles, it is better to develop batteries to form an absolute advantage over other companies, and then sell their battery powertrains to other auto companies for a high patent fee. As a result, BYD's market will be very large, not limited to its own brand of cars. Just like today's Qualcomm, it has formed a monopoly on mobile phone chips, and then sold the processor to major domestic mobile phone manufacturers, charging high patent fees. Mastering the core technology, he has mastered the initiative, and BYD needs to master the core technology of electric vehicles.

However, will the situation develop as imagined? Cars are indeed moving in the direction of electrification, but there are two problems that must be solved in the popularity of electric vehicles, the cost of an electric car, and the supply of clean power in the world. However, before the above two major problems are solved, electric vehicles are unlikely to be fully popularized. Solving the problem of clean power in the world lies in the planning of countries around the world. As a company, it is often powerless. But the cost issue is a real test of the enterprise. Through large-scale production, Tesla and BYD have reduced the cost of batteries to a very low level. Unfortunately, such costs are unacceptable to most consumers.

Due to the low energy density of traditional batteries, in order to achieve greater battery life, the battery can only be made very large, and the cost is high, which is difficult to promote in large areas in the future. Therefore, it is very likely that the future automobile market will be a new battery technology, rather than the current battery. It is very difficult for BYD's battery technology to be promoted.

It is difficult to promote its own key battery technology, and with the shortcomings in traditional automotive technology, BYD will find it difficult to become the leading automaker in the future.
