Apple Ultra HD TV is coming?

Two recent rumors about Apple's supply chain circulated in the market. One rumors that Apple recently increased chip orders. Another rumors that Apple and LG negotiate on the "Ultra High Definition TV" panel.

The Taiwan media’s “Electronic Times” quoted unnamed sources as saying that Apple had increased its orders to chip suppliers and estimated that it would launch new products.

The report pointed out that Apple's chip orders in the third quarter was almost double the second quarter. In addition, sources also pointed out that in the second half of this year, the chip shipments of apple chip suppliers will increase significantly, accounting for 70% of the total orders for Apple this year.

However, sources pointed out that the surge in chip orders does not necessarily mean that new products will be introduced. Prior to this, from the fourth quarter of last year to the first quarter of this year, Apple reduced the amount of parts orders. According to market sources, the quarterly orders for iPhone parts fell to 20 million during the six months from the fourth quarter of last year to the first quarter of this year. The "Electronic Times" did not say what parts or suppliers were affected.

With the rumors of the iPhone 5S, iPhone Lite, and the new iPad, it is expected that Apple’s chip supplier shipments will reach 40 million in the third quarter of this year.

In addition, the "Electronic Times" also reported that there are rumors that Apple is discussing the purchase of 55-inch and 65-inch "ultra-high-definition television" panel talks with LG Display. According to legend, Sharp is also one of the high-definition panel suppliers that Apple considers.

It is unclear what kind of panel Apple plans to use in this product. It is estimated that this product is still in the testing phase, which means that Apple has not reached any relevant agreement. Samsung, Sony and Sharp have already introduced TVs using this "Ultra High Definition TV" panel, which is also known as 4K TV.
