China's wind tower enterprises will actively respond to the US International Trade Commission

The United States International Trade Commission voted on February 10 that China's application of wind towers to the United States caused substantial damage to related US industries. At present, Tianshun Metal (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., China Shipbuilding Chengxi Shipyard and other companies involved in the larger amount of the said that they will actively respond.

It is reported that the case involved more than 170 enterprises in Jiangsu Province, involving more than 64 million US dollars, accounting for about half of the amount involved in the country.

At the end of last year, the U.S. Wind Power Tower Alliance filed a complaint against China’s exports to the United States and requested a “double counter” survey on imported wind tower products imported from China, with more than 64% tariffs levied separately. The voting on February 10 confirmed that it was the first anti-dumping and anti-subsidy case against China's exports since this year.

In 2011, there were 94 cases of trade friction in our province, an increase of 77% over the same period of last year. The amount involved was 2.87 billion U.S. dollars and there were 1991 enterprises involved. Among them, there were 10 newly initiated countervailing and anti-dumping investigations. The amount involved was 1.68 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 59% of the total amount involved. More than 100 export companies in our province were implicated.

Professionals said that although the “double reverse” case had little impact on the province’s wind power industry, there is one point that must be highly valued. That is, U.S. trade protection has pointed to China’s emerging industries. The main reason why the United States frequently hits China's new energy industry is that China’s new energy industry has a similar start time to developed countries and the technology gap is relatively small.
