Recently, the first photovoltaic tunnel lighting system in Yantai Tongshi Road Tunnel, which is the first in China, was successfully put into operation and officially opened. The project saved 42 tons of standard coal per year, and the annual saving cost was nearly 200,000 yuan.
On the top of the south exit of the Tongshi Road Tunnel, you can see that in a square of 3,000 square meters, a row of dark blue solar panels is spectacular. This is the solar photovoltaic power station of the Tongshi Road Tunnel. Lin Shile, head of the Housing and Construction Bureau of Yantai City, told the author that the photovoltaic system of the Tongshi Road Tunnel is the first in China to apply solar energy in tunnel lighting.
